Welcome to the Our Words Matter community. We encourage you to exchange ideas here, but we need to set some ground rules.
By providing content for Our Words Matter you agree to abide by the following guidelines and comply with the Our Words Matter Terms and Conditions.

Violation of these guidelines, or the terms and conditions may result in the termination of us posting any of your contributions.
The terms “we”, “us” and “our” are a reference to Our Words Matter. References to “you” and “your” are a reference to you as a user of this website.
What kind of content may be published?
We are looking for content that addresses a wide variety of topics – things that matter to you like diversity, education, environment, health, housing, jobs, reducing crime, tolerance, the economy and the Treaty.

You must not provide to us any information that you do not want published on this website or presented to other users of this website.
To the extent that you provide to us any information by submitting it to us for consideration for posting on this website (including text, graphic materials, audio or any other materials):

you represent and warrant to us and to all others that access this website that you own that information (or possess sufficient rights in that information to grant the rights you are required to grant in relation to that information) and that we (and all users of this website) may regard such information as able to be publicly disclosed and, in any case, not confidential information;

What kind of content will not be published?
No harassment or bullying of any kind will be tolerated on the Our Words Matter website, whether that be in the form of submitted content, comments or otherwise.

On the Our Words Matter website, people are encouraged to contribute thoughtful and considered pieces.

Our Words Matter abhors discrimination and does not condone discriminative conduct or attitudes. Sexism, racism, homophobia or any other form of discrimination that violates the human rights of others will not be tolerated.

It is inappropriate to post commercial messages and content on Our Words Matter.

Do not post anything that could be libellous or defamatory, knowingly false, inaccurate on in violation of the law. By posting on Our Words Matter you agree to indemnify and protect Our Words Matter from any legal action brought against you as a result of your comments. We will not be liable for damages of any kind incurred as a result of any content posted on its site.
Posting inappropriate, offensive, illegal or explicit content is prohibited.
Our Words Matter is an openly published forum. Do not post anything on Our Words Matter that you wouldn’t want the world to see. Be yourself. Do not impersonate another person.

What about links and author bios?
All authors of content will be named, unless expressly asked to remain anonymous. If the content has been republished from another website or source, this will be named and the link provided.

How do I submit content?
You can submit comment by sending an email to contribute@ourwordsmatter.co.nz. Please include your name, phone number and contact details and either an outline of the content you would like to submit or the article that you have drafted for submission.

What kind of time frames should I keep in mind?
Once you have submitted content with us, if you do not hear back from us within 2 weeks, assume that we will not be uploading your content.

Will my content be edited?
We retain the right and discretion (but not the obligation) to edit, delete, reject or remove any content which you submit to us.

Will my content be republished?
You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide licence to republish any content you submit to us, without limitation, in any format.
Can I share content that has been published?
Yes, you can. If you would like to republish content that has been published on Our Words Matter we request that you attribute the content to the author and provide a link to the article on Our Words Matter.
